about

Merry Christmas 2011!

The always magical Captives on the Carousel once again charm us with their dreamy music. ‘Turn off the sun’ is a slow, understated groove with the solemnity of the day after a blizzard. Some regret in the vocal delivery (and the lyrics) make it quite emotional. B-side included in your download is ‘In the bleak midwinter’, that classic posthumous poem by Christina Rossetti. A beautiful piece of writing is rendered even more beautiful (all about the subtle swell in the cello bit). Lovely.
